Kate Gould Gardens was founded over 20 years ago. The business has grown organically from a one-woman design studio to a full-service design and build firm.
Kate has gradually built a tight-knit and talented team around her that share her passion, values and commitment to high standards. Kate is known for her innovative and fearless yet practical designs, but she is the first to say that she could never see these ambitious designs through to completion without her highly-skilled build team.

We’re known for our small city gardens and love the opportunity to bring greenery and wildlife back to urban spaces. Experience has taught us that every garden, no matter how small, has the potential to be a beautiful, useable and peaceful space.
On larger scale projects, Kate’s love of plants can be let loose. We can create a traditional formal garden or bring some contemporary flare to your countryside home. Whatever your style we always prioritise the needs of our clients and consider the setting and environment, resulting in a brand new garden that feels as though it should have always been there. About Kate.
Kate was encouraged by her parents to garden from a young age. What started out as simple hobby grew into a successful lifelong career. Kate Gould Gardens was started in 1998 out of Kate’s bedroom. 20 years and 5 Chelsea gold medals later, Kate is one of the most sought after garden designers in London.
But she hasn’t forgotten where it all began. It’s very likely you’ll still find her with her hands in the dirt, installing the latest exquisite planting scheme she has dreamt up. It’s this warmth and approachability that gives her the ability to work along with her clients. This, coupled with her passion, experience and strength of visualisation, is a tried and tested combination that yields beautiful results every time.
Design Team.
Bespoke projects require careful and considered detailing. This entails producing a wide range of plans including 3D visuals, planting plans, construction details, lighting plans and irrigation plans. This is all coordinated in-house by our skilled and dedicated team. You can rely on them ensure that the on-site team will have everything they need to bring your garden to life.
On-Site Team.
The On-Site team is lead by our project managers Keith and Colin. After several years of voluntary work with the World Skills Organisation, Keith was awarded an MBE in the Queens 2012 honours. He has continued to hone and develop his skillset in landscaping. He always has his finger on the pulse, ensuring projects are delivered to an exceptional level of quality. Colin joined the team in 2018. After gaining a wealth of experience working in commercial landscaping, he was attracted by the creativity, effort and love put in to each project at Kate Gould Gardens. He is extremely capable at managing the many moving parts involved in landscaping, ensuring our lovely customers are happy. Together they manage a skilled and professional team of soft and hard landscapers to install the designs as well as maintenance gardeners who ensure the designs look amazing for years to come.
Office Team.
The office is manned Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm by our incredibly helpful admin team who are not only facilitating the everyday running of the business but will most likely be your first port of call when making an enquiry.
