Sleek minimalist gardens created exclusively for The Barbican’s new Upper Restaurant and Ground Floor terrace. A complete redevelopment by SHH Architects ‘ interior designer Helen Hughes was to be offset with a brand new planting scheme. Bright colours and interesting flowing planting were added to echo the hanging baskets of the flats around The Barbican. These were complimented by sections of ‘edibles’ for the restaurant to use; Thyme, Oregano, Alpine strawberry to name a few. Large pots by Urbis were used on the top terrace planted with Olea and Lavandula to add height to the lower Terrace Betula utilis var while Jacquemontii were planted around the gardens in large wooden containers as a finishing touch.
