About This Project

A newly renovated family home with large glazed doors onto the garden drove the new design for the exterior space. Softening the lines of the house, the billowy planting nestles the new cooking and dining areas and leads the view from the new kitchen room to the outside. The generous terrace enabled its division into separate areas with bespoke furniture for dining, entertaining and relaxing all year round.

Beyond the terrace, a curved lawn is surrounded by trees, shrubs and perennials for shade and sun. Steps lead to a lawn for play, with an in-ground trampoline and space for a badminton net or football goals. An existing dividing hedge was renovated and thinned to create ‘doorways’ to the rear of the garden where an Oak seat arcs around a wood burning fire pit.  Areas of meadow and mown lawn are studded with fruit trees and make an impromptu camping site in hot weather.
